René Ruel

Ruel René 1944 – 2022

Rene Ruel passed away peacefully in his sleep in the morning of May 4th, 2022 after a long battle with many illnesses. He is succeeded by his wife Christine, son Allan (Tanya), daughter Renee (Douglas) as well as his sister Jocelyn (Tony). He is predeceased by his sister Lise (Jacques), brother Serge (Fernande), sisters Pierrette, Jeannette, Andrée (Jean-Pierre) and brother Daniel (Francine). He will be dearly missed by all nieces, nephews and especially by his grandchildren Chloe, Sabrina and Sebastien.

Despite his long struggle with various illnesses which often made it difficult for him to get around, he was easy going and a social butterfly who easily made new friends. He was a special uncle to most nieces and nephews in his family and was also considered an uncle and grandpa to many other people whose lives he touched.

He was also a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch #198 in Rawdon. He took great pride in the few fortunate times that he was able to participate as a chaperone to many young and upcoming athletes during the annual Youth National Track and Field held in B.C. where he made connections to many of the young athletes. In accordance with his last wishes a private cremation has taken place an no funeral services will be held.
